Creating Custom Templates

Note: Custom templates are only available on paid plans. Starter plan users cannot create custom templates but can use and configure default templates.

Access Template Form

  1. Navigate to Templates page
  2. Click Add Template button (admin only, not available on starter plan)
  3. Template form will open

Required Fields

  • Name: Template name (e.g., "Custom Note")
  • Description: Brief description of template purpose
  • Category: Document category/type
  • Content: Template structure (optional, for display)

AI Configuration

AI Prompt

The AI prompt tells the AI how to generate the document:

Generate a consultation note for {{patient.firstName}} {{patient.lastName}}.

Consultation Date: {{consultation.startTime}}
Transcript: {{consultation.transcript}}
Doctor Notes: {{consultation.doctorNotes}}

Create a professional medical document following the SOAP format.

Template Variables

Use these variables in your prompts:

  • {{patient.firstName}}  - Patient's first name
  • {{patient.lastName}}  - Patient's last name
  • {{patient.dateOfBirth}}  - Patient's date of birth
  • {{patient.mrn}}  - Patient's MRN
  • {{consultation.transcript}}  - Full consultation transcript
  • {{consultation.doctorNotes}}  - Doctor's notes
  • {{consultation.startTime}}  - Consultation start time
  • {{consultation.endTime}}  - Consultation end time
  • {{consultation.duration}}  - Recording duration

AI Model Selection

  • Default: Uses system default model
  • Custom: Select specific model per template
  • Temperature: Control creativity (0-1)
    • Lower (0.3): More consistent, factual
    • Higher (0.7): More creative, varied

Saving Template

  1. Fill in all required fields
  2. Configure AI prompt with variables
  3. Set AI model and temperature (optional)
  4. Click Save or Create
  5. Template appears in Disabled zone
